Everyone knows Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkeban THE MOVIE has come out. No surprise. (In fact, it's
almost time for the next book) Three new, vital characters have finally showed their faces, so-to-speak, in this
segment; Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew, James' best friends and together the members of The Marauders.
David Thewlis played beloved Remus, to our ultimate horror. We don't blame the actor for our pain, rather
the makeup and costume stylists, because above the gentle lips of Remus were dirty, slimy, brown slugs. Well, they might have
been slugs, for all we care. The trimmed, disturbing little patches of hair were not at all what we fantasized! Lupin from
the books is shaggy and ragged and worn and... oh, direct quote!
"The stranger was wearing an extremely shaggy set of wizard's robes that had been darned in several places.
He looked ill and exhausted. Though quite young, his light brown hair was flecked with gray."
That mentions nothing about a mustache or facial hair at all. If the reasoning behind the fuzz is that Remus
is exhausted and doesn't have time to take care of the horrid hair, how the heck is it so trim and neat? K-chan believes
the book may have said that he became neater after arriving, but the liberty they decided to take with him is a tragedy we
will wince about for eternity for in any of the passages describing Lupin there is no mention of a mustache.
Not that we don't have other complaints about Harry Potter and the Makeup and Costume crew, what with what
K-chan saw in a intern video on TRL how Malfoy's hair being shorter than Ronniekins', but we'll whine and bitch and moan about
those things later. If you have a desire to whine and bitch and moan about Remus's horrible, awful, perturbing slug-er, mustache,
then by all means, contact us and you too can become an Honorary Member of the Society of Remus Lupin's Mustache Haters. We'll
be getting a member list up soon.
We'll end this semi-rant/hater society offer with an offending image of the horrible THINGS..
