The past we cannot change,

the future has yet to be decided.

We do not choose who we are,

We do not choose what we are.

We cannot choose what we want,

We cannot choose who we want.

We can’t do much of anything

for we each have a destiny.

A destiny we must follow

A destiny we cannot choose.

Have we any choice at all?

Yes.

We can choose to love.

We can choose to hate, to long,

to want, to need.

For we all have a wish.

a wish that could change our destiny.

If we wished and wished that wish just

Might come true.

So even if we can’t change the past,

And the future we cannot see,

There is still hope that we can change our destiny.
