Sisters’ Plight
Prologue
“Nee-chan! Wait up,” called a girl about the age of sixteen.
“I can’t! We’re late and it’s all your fault,” replied the girl’s sister.
“Fine then. If you won’t let me catch up with you, I’ll just get there first,” muttered the girl
under her breath. She closed her eyes and giant wings sprung out of her back. She opened her eyes, which had turned silver,
smirked at her sister and launched herself into the air.
“Let’s see if you can keep up with me now, Mina,” called the girl, laughing as she disappeared out of
the forest and into the light morning sky.
“Not fair, Ryoku,” shouted Mina. She closed her eyes and medium sized wings sprouted from her upper back, between
her shoulder blades, her eyes changing to amethyst and sapphire. She shot up into the air after her sister.

Sisters’ Plight
Chapter 1: Ryoku and Mina
“Where are they? They’re late,” fumed Kakashi as he stormed around the room.
“Calm down sensei. I’m sure they’ll be here soon,” Said Sakura, a member of Kakashi’s cell.
Kakashi was about to make a retort, but Iruka burst into the room and shouted, “Get down!” and hit the ground.
No one knew why until a black fire ball of flames flew through the door. The rest of the people in the room took cover
behind desks and peeked around the corners.
“I told you to wait for me! You didn’t, so I came here my own way,” came a girl’s voice.
“I shouldn’t have had to wait for you! You made us late in the first place,” came another’s female
voice.
“I know those voices! That’s Ryoku and Mina,” said Kakashi running to the door. He reached out and pulled
two girls in by what looked like wings.
“What the-!” Naruto started.
“Everybody, these are the half-sisters Ryoku and Mina. Girls, this is Iruka, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. The three
kids will be y0our new partners,” said Kakashi, letting the two go.
Everybody in the room gawked at the two girls.
Ryoku had floor-length golden hair pulled back in a braid. She had cat ears that matched her hair, but were tipped in silver.
She had a slightly bushy tail that reached the ground and extended another foot, which she dignantly held above the ground.
It matched her ears for color. She had two giant mismatched wings that brushed the floor and towered over her head. The left
wing was dragon-like wing with red splotches all over it. Her right wing resembled that of an angel’s, threaded through
with silver. She had two inch long black nails and full black lips tinted red. She had on a black kimono with a red and gold
phoenix on it; it’s tail started at her ankles and wrapped up until its head was above her right breast.
Mina had ankle length silver hair trapped up on her head in a high ponytail with her forelocks free hanging down. Her right
eye was a dark amethyst and her left eye was dark sapphire. Black wolf ears adorned the sides of her head, whereas Ryoku’s
were on the top. She had an extremely bushy tail that reached the floor and extended out a foot. She had two middle-sized
mismatched-colored feathered-dragon wings. Her right was black with silver mottled allover it, her left was silver and speckled
with black. Her blood red lips were tinted with gold and she had on a dark blue kimono with a silver dragon on it, the design
the same as Ryoku’s.
“Say hi and introduce yourselves you two,” said Kakashi to Ryoku and Mina.
“Hmph,” said Ryoku and she turned to leave.
“Oh no you don’t! You’re staying here Sis,” said Mina, lunging at her sister.
Ryoku spun around and hissed with her claws extended, her silver eyes flashing. She lunged at her sister, but met an invisible
wall.
“Why must you two fight? All I asked was for you to tell them who you are,” said Kakashi, letting the invisible
wall fall.
“Sorry,” said Mina, “Hi guys! My name is Mina Shiro, but you guys can just call me Mina. I’m an
ookami hanyou, half wolf demon, half human. I’m a year younger than me Nee-chan, fifteen.” After she was done
she went up and shook everyone’s hand. “Your turn Nee-chan!”
“Oi, my name is Ryoku Shiro, just call me Ryoku. I’m a neko hanyou, half cat demon, half human,” said
Ryoku, sitting down in a chair by the door, scowling.
“Any likes or dislikes?” asked Iruka.
“Yeah! I like ramen, manga…”said Mina as she listed off everything. “Your turn Nee-chan,”
she cried when she had finished.
“Fine. To sum it all up, there is very little I like and a whole list of things I don’t like is numberless,”
Ryoku clipped out.
“Wow! She sounds like you, Sasuke,” said Naruto.
“What are your goals?” asked Kakashi.
“To make people see me for who I am, not as some freak. And to find out why I feel as if there’s something-“
Mina started.
“That’s enough Mina,” Ryoku interrupted.
Kakashi looked to both of them for a second before shaking his head and going on. “And what about you Ryoku?”
“None of your damned business. What my goal is does not concern you, so you do not need to know,” said Ryoku.
She stood up and left, quietly shutting the door behind her.
“Nee-chan,” called Mina, getting up to go after her sister, but Kakashi stopped her.
“Just let her be. I’ll go talk to her in a few minutes. Right now I want you guys to go train out in the courtyard.”
“Okay,” everyone said in unison.
“Oh, wait! I have to change. I can’t train in this,” Mina cried, gesturing to her outfit.
“Well, go change then,” said Kakashi as he walked out the door.
“We’ll head out to the courtyard while you change,” said Sakura, turning to leave.
“It’ll only be a minute,” Mina said cheerfully, “you can go ahead and stay.”
“Wha-?” Sasuke started to say but was cut off as blue flames erupted around Mina.
“Oh my God! Mina,” screamed Sakura and Naruto.
“Don’t worry guys! I control the blue fire element,” Mina said, laughing as the flames died down, “I
only needed to change.” She was now wearing a sleeveless black dress slit on the sides and blue flames at the bottom.
“Okay! Let’s go,” Mina chirped cheerfully as she led the way out of the room. Everybody stared at her
dumbfounded as the followed out.
