Shatter

This is what happens when you fall asleep at 2:00 am listening to "Paint it Black" on constant replay, kids. I was just minding my own business when it hit me in the head. Also, I don’t normally rhyme things (or write author's notes), but, well, it wanted to rhyme. I am slave to the po-ems.

Shatter

Lock it in a tower, keep it safe within your soul

At the bottom of your innocence where only visions go

You take your deepest breath, stake your claim against it all

Your heart beats like a piston, sunlight shatters on the wall

Breath deep, breath deep, from the crevice of your mind

Your repose will slip beneath, your hidden darkness fall behind
